Supply Chain

"Sekonix establishes a Responsible Procurement Policy and builds a sustainable supply chain to minimize ESG risks."

Sekonix has established a 'Responsible Raw Material Procurement Policy' for responsible material sourcing.

This policy specifies Sekonix and its partners’ fundamental principles for managing supply chain ESG risks, including compliance with laws, labor and human rights, safety and health, environmental protection, ethics and fair trade, and responsible mineral sourcing.
It also operates a grievance system where ESG-related issues and inquiries can be reported anonymously.

Responsible Raw Material Procurement Policy

  • 1. Compliance with Laws

Sekonix complies with laws and regulations related to the purchase of raw materials and semi-finished products necessary for manufacturing. It also applies the same principles to sourcing conflict minerals (tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold) and responsible minerals (cobalt, *others). Sekonix strives to adhere to the highest behavioral standards required by applicable national and international laws, standards, and other legal requirements.

*Others include aluminum/bauxite, chromium, copper, cotton, glass (silica), graphite (natural), leather, lithium, magnesium, manganese, mica, molybdenum, nickel, niobium, palladium, platinum, polysilicon, rare earth elements, rhodium, natural rubber, steel/iron, zinc, etc.

  • 2. Labor and Human Rights

We uphold and respect human rights across the supply chain, rejecting all forms of child labor, forced or involuntary labor, modern slavery, or human trafficking. This includes zero tolerance for discrimination, sexual harassment, punishment, psychological or physical coercion, verbal abuse, torture, war crimes, other serious violations of international humanitarian law, crimes against humanity, and genocide. We respect employees' rights to reasonable working hours, unionization, and collective bargaining in compliance with local laws and regulations. We also protect the rights of women, indigenous peoples, minorities, and marginalized communities. Goods and services must not be sourced from supply chains violating these principles, and corrective actions must be taken if such violations are identified.

  • 3. Safety and Health

We comply with applicable domestic and international laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety, striving to protect all workers’ health and safety through the establishment of management systems.

  • 4. Environmental Protection

We conserve natural resources and aim to avoid or minimize environmental damage caused by economic activities. Key areas of focus include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preventing air/soil/water pollution, protecting biodiversity, reducing harmful noise and odor emissions, conserving water resources/natural soil/forests, expanding the use of renewable clean energy, and safely managing chemicals and waste. We also respect and preserve local communities, including their land and biodiversity.

  • 5. Ethics and Fair Trade

In all transactions, we prohibit bribery, origin fraud, money laundering, extortion, and non-payment of taxes/fees/royalties, striving to ensure transparency and integrity. We also protect related information and intellectual property. Furthermore, we conduct business responsibly and transparently by complying with fair trade, financial, export restriction, and economic sanctions laws specific to each country.

  • 6. Responsible Sourcing of Raw Materials from Conflict and High-Risk Areas

We do not tolerate direct or indirect support to non-state armed groups through the extraction, transportation, trade, handling, or export of minerals, and we broadly apply international law to prevent such support.

    *Direct and Indirect Support Activities

1.Procuring minerals from non-state armed groups or supporting logistics or equipment controlled by armed groups at mines, transport routes, mineral trading points, or lower supply chains.

2.Extorting money or minerals at access points to mines, transport routes, or mineral trading locations.

    3. Illegally imposing taxes or extorting intermediaries, export companies, or international traders.

  • 7. Securing Transparent and Sustainable Supply Chains through Assessments

Sekonix manages potential risks in the raw material supply chain by conducting written audits and on-site evaluations, selecting and operating partners based on these assessments.

Using the findings, we focus on mitigating risks and implementing improvement activities to ensure continuous progress across the entire supply chain.

Sekonix’s Responsible Raw Material Procurement Policy includes mandatory requirements that partners must meet to engage in business with Sekonix. Additionally, we expect partners to ensure responsible raw material sourcing through their own efforts, aligning with internationally recognized standards and initiatives.

Partners must disclose the origin of materials supplied to Sekonix upon request. If Sekonix determines that the sourcing of these materials may violate the principles outlined in this Responsible Raw Material Procurement Policy, further due diligence must be conducted.
